Modern Chronic Conditions also known as" Plagues of Plenty" affect us all

The energy for  everything you do is provided by your mitochondria,  billions of them converting the food you eat into the energy you need.

The foods you choose can help you be healthy and happy or the reverse. 

Today we are gradually becoming "homo diabeticus" As we lead inflammatory lifestyles, eating too much, too often of the wrong things, our systems designed over millions of years cannot cope. 

Today some estimates suggest that almost 50% of the population has prediabetes. That figure would be higher if we tested  insulin. Insulin levels rise to keep blood sugar within normal ranges for years before tests of blood sugar start to increase.

The impact of hyperinsulinaemia, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome includes inflammation of practically all systems of the body and contributes to a vast array of diseases. 

It is not rocket science to see that what you eat makes a difference to how you feel.

T2 Diabetes Kills

After analysing 23 million years of person-years, the earlier you're diagnosed with diabetes the earlier you die of any cause: 

"A 50 yr old with diabetes died on average 14yrs earlier when diagnosed at 30. They died 10yrs earlier when diagnosed at 40yrs or 6yrs earlier when diagnosed at 50yrs."

The Hba1C of participants with diabetes  was  6% - 7.37% .    This range is considered GOOD CONTROL by the medical profession for those with T2 Diabetes.  

It is not the diagnosis that kills them !  - it is the  consequences of running high blood sugars for far too long.   These high blood sugars affect every cell in your body  and contribute to the  "Plagues of Plenty"   -  Almost all chronic conditions  are impacted by the metabolic problems of which T2 Diabetes is the most obvious sign.

Results of the investigators’ analysis also suggested each year with an  HbA1c greater than 58 mmol/mol equated to a loss of around 100 life days  for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

T2 diabetes is diagnosed far too late. Hyperinsulinaemia, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome all come well BEFORE a T2 diagnosis.  Do we test these?  NO. 

Dr Joseph Kraft did,   Looking at the overall group of 3,650 people referred because of  suspicion of diabetes, the usual glucose tolerance test criteria would  have found that 1713 were norma.   Bringing to bear the insulin tolerance test, two thirds of these  so-called “normal” tests were found to be latent diabetic. It appears  obvious that the glucose-insulin tolerance test will detect many more  latent diabetics.

 Dr. Joseph R. Kraft (1916–2015) was a pathologist known for his research  in diabetes and insulin resistance. He is particularly renowned for his  work on the relationship between insulin levels and glucose tolerance.  Dr. Kraft developed the Kraft Prediabetes Profile, a test that assesses  insulin response to glucose challenges, aiming to detect early signs of  diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk. His research emphasized the  importance of insulin resistance as a key factor in metabolic disorders,  contributing significantly to our understanding of diabetes and its  complications.

Today more and more children are being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes - their lives are likely to be cut very short.  They deserve normal blood sugars, they deserve normal life expectancy.  By the time you, your child or parent has  been diagnosed with T2 its already become a very serious condition.   You can stop it in its tracks with some very simple changes to the foods you eat.
